No, you don’t need a different niche
It’s common to think if you’re not getting clients, your niche must be wrong. That’s probably not the issue. The real problem is that you haven’t defined who you’re actually talking to. Let me explain.

Welcome to The Find Coaching Clients Newsletter for learning where to focus your energy, so you can find plenty of clients.
Last week, I introduced you to the Market Clarity Framework: 4 questions that stop your business from feeling scattered and make it easier for clients to say yes.
Quick recap of the flow:
Big Group / Small Niche – Where do I fit in the market?
Client Personas – Who exactly am I talking to?
Lens / Shift – What perspective am I offering that’s different?
Tailored Messages – How do I say it so it sticks?
In last week’s newsletter, we walked through Step 1: clarifying your Big Group and Small Niche. That’s the foundation.
But here’s where most coaches get turned around: even inside one niche, you have different types of clients.
That doesn’t mean you need multiple niches (that’s the runaway train). It means you need to name your client personas.
If you're just starting out, I'm always going to recommend you start with just ONE.
However, it may be helpful to map out different personas for clarity sake, then choose the one you're going to start with for now. Consider it brain dump so you can make a decision and move forward.
This step gives your marketing precision, so instead of speaking vaguely to “everyone,” you’re speaking directly to the exact person you want to reach.

Your job this week is to sketch out your client personas.
Here’s how:
Start with your one niche (from last week’s exercise). Keep it consistent, don’t change it.
Inside that niche, write down 2–3 types of clients (personalities) you serve. These are your client personas.
Example from ElevatedMind (my coaching company):
Lisa struggles with visibility, feels fear of judgment (inner resistance).
Sarah struggles more with marketing, feels scattered and inconsistent (outer overwhelm).
Notice how they’re different, but they still belong in the same niche.
This is why coaches often think they have multiple niches, when really they just haven’t defined their client personas.
Once you can name your personas, you’ll start to see exactly how to speak to each of them and that’s where your message begins to stick. When you can make your readers feel like you're in their head and "get" them, you're on the right track!

Defining your client personas is a crucial step in your marketing. The next step is knowing how to actually talk to them.
That’s where my inbox course, Messaging that Makes You “IT,” comes in. In quick, easy-to-binge lessons, you’ll learn how to clarify your messaging so your people feel like you’re speaking directly to them, without second-guessing every word.
It’s a practical, step-by-step process to create messaging that resonates, connects, and attracts the right clients. And it's delivered straight to your inbox every day for 12 days. (Unless you fast forward)
Inside I teach you how to:
Create Sharp and Simple Messaging: Say exactly what needs to be said in a way that lands immediately.
Create Enticing Messaging: Speak directly to your audience’s desires, making your offers irresistible.
Stand Out with Unique Messaging: Highlight what makes you one of a kind and impossible to ignore.
Connect with Clients at Every Stage: Tailor your message to guide potential clients from curious to ready-to-buy.
Infuse Energy into Your Words: Bring your message to life with confidence, inspiration, and belief.
If you want your message to land with the exact people you want to reach, this course will show you how.

Nothing drains your energy faster than trying to talk to “everyone” in your marketing.
It feels scattered, heavy, and awkward because deep down, you know you’re not really connecting with anyone. And that’s frustrating.
But the moment you define your client personas, something shifts.
You know exactly who you’re speaking to. Your words come easier. Your personality (the part that naturally draws people to you) starts shining through. Your energy feels lighter. And instead of hesitating, you start showing up with confidence.
That clarity doesn’t just help your marketing, it changes how you carry yourself as a coach.
Never underestimate the power of clarity.
