“Meh” messaging? This is why...
If no one’s responding to your messaging, it’s because they can’t see themselves in it. Here’s how to fix it.

Welcome to The Find Coaching Clients Newsletter for learning where to focus your energy, so you can find plenty of clients.
We’ve made it to the final step in the Market Clarity Framework.
Let’s recap:
Big Group / Small Niche – Where do I fit in the market?
Client Personas – Who exactly am I talking to?
Lens / Shift – What perspective do I bring that’s different?
Tailored Messages – How do I say it so it sticks?
This week, we’re focusing on Tailored Messages.
Here’s what I’ve learned in over 15 years of writing copy for multi-million dollar brands: Your message should always feel like it’s written to one person. Not a crowd. Not the entire internet. One person.
As an example, let’s use this client persona to demonstrate: Lisa, the mid-career coach who’s smart, capable, and tired of spinning her wheels online. She wants clients, but feels invisible and doubts whether she can make this work.
Now, tailoring means two things: You write directly to Lisa, not “everyone.”
And you adjust the message depending on where Lisa is in her journey, her buyer readiness phase.
Here’s what that looks like:
Not Aware Yet (problem hidden, but frustration present): “You’re posting, sharing, even creating freebies… but nothing’s happening. You start to wonder if maybe it’s you. It’s not, but THIS is.”
Problem Aware (she knows the problem, but not sure how to fix it): “The truth is, you don’t need to work any harder (you’re doing enough, I think you know this), but you need a clear marketing engine that keeps moving for you because you can’t be online 24/7.”
Solution Ready (she’s looking for something to buy into): “In 90 days, you can have your marketing engine done, that means list growth, email sales, visibility, or offer flow. Put some structure and support in place, get it done, and finally feel momentum in your coaching business.” (BTW, messaging aside, if this is you, book a call with me and let’s talk.)
Same person. Same core problem. But three different ways of saying it, depending on where Lisa is.
That’s tailored messaging.
So how do you know when to use each version? (Keep reading)

Here’s one way to know when to use each version of your message and a quick way to practice it this week:
You might want to write this on a sticky note and post it by your laptop.
Not Aware Yet → Use in visibility content (social posts, YouTube, podcast) where you’re meeting new people who don’t realize the problem yet.
Problem Aware → Use in emails, freebies, and nurture content where your audience already knows the struggle and is looking for a way forward.
Solution Ready → Use in sales pages, CTAs, and launch emails where people are considering working with you.
Mini Exercise:
Pick one problem your client persona (like Lisa) struggles with.
Write it 3 ways, one for each phase.
Then place each version where it belongs in your content this week.
That’s how you move from saying “the same thing everywhere” to tailoring your message so it actually sticks.

When your message feels generic, your energy drops and dims because you don’t feel you’re fully expressing your passion or your gifts.
And when you don’t get responses, that magnifies the drop. You end up second-guessing everything you write: Is this clear enough? Is it too basic? Do they even get it?
But when you tailor your words, one client persona, one phase of readiness, you feel grounded. You know exactly what you’re saying and why you’re saying it. Confidence increases, you feel that you’re conveying your work accurately, and you feel more certain. Your energy rises.
Energy is a real thing. I don’t care how “woo” you label it, lol. Everything is energy. When you’re clear, your clients feel it. They sense the confidence behind your words, and that confidence is magnetic.
